Too many people treat Java like a subset of C++ and end up writing poor Java code. When you add up the cost of ALL taxes - federal, state, local, municipal, plus the cost for items such as health care, child care, education, what we pay in the US is just as much or more and what we get less, because we live in a "For Profit" society, not in a "for the General Good" society. If you're dying to have it then get it, but you'll prob feel the same way i did.
UPDATE: I ended up finally buying this book! I found it for $175 final sale at Barney's over the holidays! Still a tad high but def lower than the above price! Bargain saver score!. So it was interesting to see how the story progressed. Especially telling is his account of two US born citizens of Hawaii whose father and mother are Japanese immigrants.
