Hysteresis in Magnetism: For Physicists, Materials Scientists, and Engineers (Electromagnetism)

This book provides a comprehensive treatment of the physics of hysteresis in magnetism and of the mathematical tools used to describe it. Hysteresis in Magnetism discusses from a unified viewpoint the relationsof hysteresis to Maxwells equations, equilibrium and non-equilibrium thermodynamics, non-linear system dynamics, micromagnetics, and domain theory. These aspects are then applied to the interpretation of magnetization reversal mechanisms: coherent rotation and switching in magnetic particles, stochastic domain wall motion and the Barkhausen effect, coercivity mechanisms and magnetic viscosity, rate-dependent hysteresis and eddy-current losses. The book emphasizes the connection between basic physical ideas and phenomenological models of interest to applications, and, in particular, to the conceptual path going from Maxwells equations and thermodynamics to micromagnetics and

From the Back Cover The book provides a comprehensive treatment of the physics of hysteresis in magnetish, and of the mathematical tools used to describe it. The relations of hysteresis to Maxwell's equations, equilibrium and non equilibrium thermodynamics, non-linear system dynamics, micromagnetics and domain theory are discussed from a unified viewpoint. Emphasis is given to the connection between basic physical ideas and phenomenological models of interest to applications, and, in particular, to the conceptual path going from Maxwell's equations abnd thermodynamics to micro-magnetics and to

REVIEW :

It covers everything starting from the very basics. The pictures in this book are amazing!. An excellent reference book for history buffs regarding the State of New Mexico and or state police across the country.. Ron has done a lot of research concerning the State Police, a great historian. However, the book bogs down a little at the beginning. If you have been to Rangeley, and attended SERE, trust me on this, you aren't going to find anything new here.

As with most 'Tech Pubs', the value of the TM goes down, as your own personal experience level increases. Excellent book regarding the history of the New Mexico State Police. K. Chesterton wrote a very fun introduction. Love the old photos and great for reminiscing. G. This book has a great history of the New Mexico State Police. Ok, if you think 'bad bush' is found at your local public lake, and you think 'survival' is making
