Shelters, map reading, water, food, and more! I would recommend this book to any hiker, camper or survivalist.. This is not a criticism, but the distinction is a necessary one. If the whole stories behind some of the events are not told, at least the reader has a good starting point, and the stories are inspiring.. If you can work your way through it, it shows how his fans of his time thought of him.. Ron has done a lot of research concerning the State Police, a great historian. It is, rather a book of stories about historical events. Love the old photos and great for reminiscing. If you have been to Rangeley, and attended SERE, trust me on this, you aren't going to find anything new here.
