This work is a compilation of selected firsthand documents and accounts of the events surrounding the development of the atomic bomb and its use against the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The documents range greatly in style from dry academic arguments to gut-wrenching eyewitness accounts. While this is a production that will not excite the passions of the general public, it is important in light of current events. Such a serious work is given a sober interpretation by Ralph Cosham. His dry, authoritative tone is consistent throughout the production. His precise enunciation and strong tone bring a sense of immediacy as we hear of events that were completely new for their time.
